THE WORK · THE FIRST CONVERSATION

The Narrative Debrief

You took the assessment. A score came back, a zone, a short read from me. The Debrief is where we sit with what came back and find the story underneath it. Ninety minutes, you and I, no slides between us.

Two hands reaching toward a shared light
The Fit

Who sits down for this

The Debrief is the lightest way to put a second set of eyes on your story. People arrive here from every zone, though it does its best work for two kinds of leaders.

The leader whose story is just waking up

Your result said the story is real and still fragile. You can feel it working in some rooms and disappearing in others. You want to know which thread to pull first.

The organization testing the water

Your team is not ready to commit to a longer engagement, and should not be, yet. One honest conversation tells you whether this work fits before anyone signs anything.

The Shape

What the ninety minutes hold

Every engagement I run follows the same spine: Source, Examine, Author. The Debrief walks it in miniature.

Source

We start with what you brought: your result, the one question you answered yourself, and the moments where your story has been landing or going quiet.

Examine

We name the one story doing the most work in your life right now, for you or against you. Most people have never said it out loud. That is the hinge of the hour.

Author

You leave with that story named, a short written read from me within a few days, and a clear sense of which path fits next, if any does.

The Outcome

What you walk away holding

One named story, in your words, not mine. A written follow-up that captures what we found. And an honest recommendation. Sometimes the recommendation is a Sprint or the Lab. Sometimes it is the book and sixty days of your own attention. I will tell you which, plainly.

Nothing Dead-Ends

Something to read, something to do

Read · The Narrative Edge

The full argument, for the reader who wants the whole work before going further. If the Debrief names your story, the book shows you the company it keeps.

Do · The next conversation

If the Debrief surfaces work worth doing together, we talk about what that looks like. If it does not, you still leave with the story named. Either way, you leave with something.

Which story is doing the most work in your life right now, and can you honestly say you wrote it?

Yours in Narrative · Rod

Start with the conversation

If you arrived here from your result email, you already know your zone. Bring it. If you have not taken the assessment yet, start there. It takes five minutes and it gives us both something real to sit with.
